First of all, you need to know what is sociology and who is the object of this discipline; the sociology is a social science which study about the society, this make different from other disciplines because we are part of the object of study so we can’t cut off the experience, and of course, we can’t repeat in the same conditions like the natural sciences.

Well, what is the importance of sociology? How Can this disciple affect the world? The main goal of sociology is understanding, when we understand about one situation or problem in the society, we can do something about this to make a good change in the actuality. We are part of the process, so it is pretty hard to do and be objective, but on the other hand, this is good for understanding, because we have many different opinions about one theme, and we can make unique solutions or ideas for doing something better for the society. 

Understanding the society to make a change, is the purpose of sociology, and with this in mind, we can make changes in the society, good changes in some like public politics, or only to understand things like identity genre.
