Why did I choose my major?

I choose my major, sociology, because I like the investigation and the culture. I really enjoy analyzing culture process like art or literature, and know how this have an influence in the society. And, of course, I want to make a change in the society.

But, I don't think study sociology when I was young, I don't know even that a major like that exist. When I was young I really like to be a teacher of maths (totally opposite of sociology) because the maths are easy to me and I like helping others (I help my classmat
es with lesson of maths sometimes). But, later, I feel lost about what do I want for my future, in one hand, I have pedagogy of maths, but I think that the teacher dont have the recognition that they deserve, they have a bad salary, and a lot of stress, my teachers say that I would not to be a teacher. In other hand I have the possibility of choose some like gastronomy because I enjoy the cook, but isn't for me, is more like a hobby. I want to be a someone who can make a change. But, the pressure of what to do in the future, and what will be my future job (if it has a good salary, etc) so, I decide study engineering commercial in the 2019, that was the worst decision I do. In the 2020 I decide that it isn't for me, so I study hard for the PTU, and decide something that mix thing that I really enjoy; the investigation and the culture, so, I'm here now.

And know talking about the experience, it's a little hard to me, because before that I don't have online class, so it's a new world, in my house I have many distraction like cellphone or noise, so keep my concentration isn't easy. I don't know how communicated appropiately with my classmates, we don't meet together, so I don't feel close to anybody. And I have a lot of stress in the first semester, but now I can do it better. I hope that the next semester can be in person, in the university and not online.

  1. Hi Carla, I think you have been across a lot of things, and I understand how it feels to be lost. I'm sure that now everything is taking their right way.

  2. Hi Carla, distractions are annoying, but they can be controlled, I think.
